Come and Shop

People get involved with the farms in a wide variety of ways but one of the very best ways is to buy your food at the farm shops. Shopping at Plaw Hatch and Tablehurst is a very different experience from trudging round a supermarket with a trolley. You feel your spirits lighten as you enter the farms and see happy animals, people having time to talk to one another and an indefinable sense of wellbeing rising up from the land around you. And there's always the opportunity to get a fragrant organic coffee and freshly made cake!

Become a Farm Friend

You can contribute to and safeguard the future of our community farming by buying one or more £100 Coop shares and becoming a Farm Friend. Most people treat these shares as a gift to the farms as there are no dividends paid and no financial incentives or other advantages. This has led some members to claim that the shares they buy represent the best money they have ever spent: they symbolise an act of pure altruism which not only secures the availability of biodynamic produce for all community members but safeguards and supports the future of biodynamic farming.

Buying one or more Coop shares offers you the opportunity to attend the AGM as a voting member, apply to become a Coop Committee member and have even more of an influence in supporting the future of sustainable farming.

Discover stories from our farms

The Co-op publishes a quarterly Newsletter which is sent to all shareholders and available free in both our farm shops. All the old newsletters are here on the website for download, and anyone can have a regular copy by email.

Farm Walks

Farm walks accompanied by a member of the farm staff are sometimes arranged, though there is also scope for experienced farm partners to lead these walks. From time-to-time, talks are arranged on particular aspects of biodynamic farming as practiced at Tablehurst and Plaw Hatch, and these are advertised in advance in the Newsletters.
